Morning Mist in Dyrehaven

October 17, 2018.

It’s been ages since I’ve had a day off from work during the week, so today I decided I would make the most of it. The alarm woke me up at 6:00AM (and again at 6:05AM) and despite the Danish weather-service warning against severe fog and a cloudy day, I could spot a few stars from my kitchen window. This did not last long however, and when I left for the train station around 6:45AM, visibility was around 50 meters.

I ended up walking 9 kilometers over the span of three and a half hours around Dyrehaven, a large natural resort 20 minutes north of Copenhagen. The fog gave the landscape mystical character, and walking through the woods accompanied by the music of Nils Frahm was quite a special experience - something I only then realised how much I missed doing (no pun intended).

I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves - enjoy.
